Trades Day at the Cal Expo
On October 2, 2025 IRCC had the pleasure of being invited to participate in the Sacramento SBRX Trades Day at the Cal Expo. About 2000 high schoolers participated in a “getting your hands dirty” building trades environment with everything from PGE wiring to crane operation, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and our own roofing demo. The IRCC showed big with a 12 x 9’ mock-up where students were able to nail shingles onto the “roof” in a proper fashion, thanks to our Sacramento area Instructor and one of our apprentices. They helped the kids understand safety, proper shingle placement and nailing the shingle down. This is one event that kids can understand there is a alternate way of making a successful career through the trades without going to college.
About the IRCC
The IRCC is a not-for-profit association of roofing industry professionals whose membership roster includes roofing contractors and associate members, such as material manufacturers and suppliers, who have joined together in an effort to foster high standards of workmanship and quality assurance within the roofing industry.
