Join the IRCC Team of committed ‘professional’ merit shop roofing contractors who understand the stakes are too high for being poorly prepared: “Undertrained” is no longer an option, if you want to:

  1. Stay in Business

  2. Remain recognized by your residential customers, insurance providers, material suppliers and ‘AHJ’s (authorities having jurisdiction) for your track record of professional follow-through, exemplary and competent workforce, and meeting the expectations the installations you stand-by , along with their increasingly stringent warranty provisions .

you know it !

  • Many of your long-standing competitors have caved under the crush of dealing with this state’s ‘uber’ regulatory burdens and lack of competent, trained installers, and have either chosen other paths, or moved to Idaho or Tennessee. Or significantly worse, they came up slack on a safety regulation, they were issued a legal stop notice, and they were not prepared to bear the price; and so they had an equipment auction.

  • Take a good look at the IRCC, with its growing network of training resources to get you prepared for the obstacles ahead. It’s alliance of committed ‘associate members’ (manufacturers, safety specialists, technical consultants, and recognized ‘qualified’ trainers) are working together with IRCC contractors to professionalize every aspect of our businesses in meeting the significant challenges ahead.

  • For sure, we’re exited about including our new residential colleagues in this collaborative effort to raise the standards, public perception, and profitability of our industry.

SAFE PRACTICES & TRAINING

  • Contemporary homeowner association managers, custom home builders, and savvy residential homeowners, have learned (most likely the hard way) that the best, performance dependable roof systems are the most cost-effective over the long-haul. And that’s seldom the same thing as the lowest bid. One doesn't necessarily equal the other. And the daylight between them continues to expand.

  • Contractors, in particular, are as aware of this, also. This is particularly so now, when a ’busted job,’ can quickly erase a year or more worth of profits and blacklist a company’s name from a preferred “A-list” of reliable roof service vendors.

  • Then, let’s throw-in the concept of “criminal negligence” for contractors who cannot document statutory compliance with Federal and Cal-OSHA training laws and regulations; such as the roofing contractor who was indicted in a case carrying a $1.5 million fine, and jail sentence up to 25-years in prison when a roofer fell 45 ft. to his death from a church steeple, and two fellow workers testified that no fall protection or related training was provided by the contractor whose annual gross sales were just over $2 million. The ramifications of poor operational oversight has become almost overwhelming, particularly for the business owner.

  • Every small business owner is an entrepreneur: Extending yourself: Taking risks has rewards. But don’t confuse entrepreneurial risks with recklessness and inattention to doing your job and staying compliant with safety compliance, and ‘best practices’ in the installation of the products and materials you install and guarantee.

  • An Association is a group lift of cooperation, collaboration and prioritizing the challenges which arise out of state regulations, human resource laws and required training in employment laws, discrimination and harassment (i.e. sexual & hostile work environment) & developing competent informed and skilled crew leadership on the jobsite.

What’s In It For You?

Very good question; and the number ONE answer is:

TIME!

  • How much time have you committed to ensure your contracting operation is ready for a CAL-OSHA response inspection to a fall accident where one of your workers is seriously injured, or worse?

  • Do you have an up-to-date compliant safety plan which meets current Federal and State statutes?

  • Are you prepared to demonstrate your company has proper accident reporting documentation, and historical records required under the law?

  • The fact is, you’re probably too busy doing job bids and putting down roofs to properly sweat the details of the rapidly growing number of rules and regulations you are required to deal with. As an independent contractor you’re conditioned to respond to problems as they arise. Being able to ‘trouble- shoot’. There’s just not enough hours in the day:

  • The IRCC is in the business assisting roofing contractors navigate the myriad of issues specifically in the roofing industry. The IRCC will help you develop a cost effective plan, through scheduled training, and information flows to help you be ready for potentially business threatening pit-falls that need to be addressed before your company faces a challenge it can’t overcome.

Here ARE Some Add-Ons

  • Affiliation with Recognized Statewide Training Organization

  • Strength In Numbers: the IRCC is a ‘known entity’ as the only California based ‘merit shop’ advocate for Roofing Industry education and skill validation certifications.

  • “Immediate “Recognition” on bids, your trucks, stationery, your company’s tie-down to professionalism, safety, by this logo & decal:
